Super-Tall Condo TheSail@MarinaBay to dominate Marina Bay at 70 storeys
Property developer City Developments have partnered with AIG to announce a landmark waterfront condominium which will dominate Marina Bay. It will be Singapore's tallest residential project, standing at 70 storeys tall, surpassing HDB's landmark development at Duxton, the Pinnacle@Duxton, which will be only 50 storeys tall. It will be launched and open for booking in late October 2004.
It will be called TheSail@MarinaBay, and it will be the world's 10th tallest residential building. Designed by architect Peter Pran, this 99-year leasehold condo will have two towers clad in glass and sculpted with fluid lines. The twin towers will accomodate 1,111 units and is estimated to eventually cost around S$1,000 per square foot. The taller tower will stand at 70 and and the shorter at 63 storeys, with units ranging from one to four-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
TheSail@MarinaBay will be the first residential development to be built on the reclaimed land of Downtown@MarinaBay. Given the height of the project, residents are expected to enjoy paranomic and scenic views of the marina, the park and the sea beyond.
